Congratulations to the Edison Boys Indoor Track & Field teams on winning their National District Championship! After battling a week of snow, ice, freezing temperatures, and a schedule change, both teams showed tremendous grit and determination—giving it their all and bringing home well-earned championships.
The Boys jumped out to an early lead on Day 1, led by senior Jacob O’Dwyer, who captured individual District Championships in all three of his events and earned MVP honors. Dillon House secured his second straight individual District title in the Long Jump, Diego Barrera placed 2nd in the 1600m and 3rd in the 1000m, and Jalani Marshall scored key points across the Long Jump, Triple Jump, and High Jump.
On Day 2, the Boys turned an 8-point edge into a dominant 27-point victory. Jack Downey set the tone by winning the individual District Championship in the 3200m, with Christian Angle adding a crucial point to clinch an Occoquan Regional berth. In the shot put, Khalil Patterson finished 5th overall, scoring 1.5 points. The championship was sealed in the High Jump, where Jalani Marshall tied for 5th and Dillon House cleared 6’1″ to place 2nd and earn a Virginia State–qualifying mark, pushing the team total to 111 points.
