The Edison Girls Wrestling team captured their first-ever National District Championship in just their first year as a Varsity sport–an incredible achievement! Twelve wrestlers placed in the top six, including nine finalists, with five champions, four runners-up, two third-place finishes, and one sixth-place finish.

• District Champions: Ashley Benegas, Nikki Thai, Harlow Wheeler, Avery Rollins, and Melanie Galdamez-Polio
• 2nd Place: Caitlin Brickley, Launa Goodbar, Lauren Pitcock, and Takundanashe Mukurazhizha
• 3rd Place: Isabella Nguyen and Caitlin Racek
• 6th Place: Josephine Holmgren
• Coach of the Year: Jason Knowles

At last weekend’s Zone Qualifier, the team placed an impressive 4th out of 30 teams, with two athletes punching their tickets to States: Nikki Thai and Caitlin Racek.
