The Edison Athletics Booster Club will offer six scholarships to graduating Edison High School seniors who have participated in Varsity Edison Athletics as a player. Applicants will be judged on athletic accomplishments, community service, coach’s recommendation, and written essay. Financial need is not a determining factor. Each scholarship award will be $500. Scholarships (checks) will be payable and sent directly to the recipient’s college or technical/vocational school.

Class of 26 WINNERS

This spring, a record number of Edison senior student-athletes applied for Athletic Boosters scholarships. Through thoughtful essays and strong recommendations from their coaches, applicants demonstrated the dedication, leadership, character, service, and athletic excellence that define Edison Athletics.

Six exceptional student-athletes were awarded $500 scholarships at Varsity Awards Night, held in the Edison Main Gym in June. Congratulations to the following Edison Eagles for earning this year’s Athletic Boosters scholarships, which will be sent directly to the colleges and universities they will attend this fall:

• Mikko Towe: Virginia Tech

• Davey Dight: James Madison University

• Jalani Marshall: University of Virginia

• Kate Ruthkosky: University of Virginia

• Kennedy Marshall: Virginia Commonwealth University

• Marley Jackson: Bowie State University (Softball)
